The Fifth Pass is a mostly canon, Alternative History DRoP Forum that is searching for new members. The RP takes place after the last Long Interval, and few people believed that thread would return. As a result the Weyrs are undermanned and the leadership is in shambles, and not to mention that the plagues had all but decimated a large number of dragons, humans and firelizards. Pern has become an easy target for the tenacious thread from the Red Star.
Many Weyrs were vacated as a result of the plague of the Third Pass, and poor conditions became the norm in the few that were unaffected. A new Weyr was built in the river canyons between Crom and Nabol, and many of the older or immature dragon riders were sent there in an effort to protect them from the plague, which was never staved off due to a loss of the knowledge of Timing it. This refuge became known as Redfall Weyr, where some of the last dragon riders reside. There is talk of the Red Star in many of the major Holds, and Redfall's Weyrwoman is succumbing to old age and poor health. Will the people of Pern hold out against the Fall?
