One of my projects this year is all about turning Shadowlack into a MUD (multi user dungeon, a kind of text adventure).

I'm combining traditional aspects of forum roleplay with real-time, multi-user roleplay. Effectively splitting the game into two different mediums. There are a lot of pros and cons when it comes to doing this.

The first major con being the splitting of attention (uh oh). The contrasting major pro though, (at least in my case), is going to be the ability to build the world and actually allow player characters to create their own homes and whatnot. You can read up a little on the development here.

Has anyone else ever switched mediums for their games? Chat to forum, or vice versa? This has been really fun to develop, but I can't be unique when it comes to hopping around mediums.
