hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry,
1977-1978.

Forever stamped in infamy, the use of a skull embraced by a snake has become notorious as the footprint of Lord Voldemort and his followers. Openly terrorizing the magical population as he has done for more than five years, muggle-borns are no longer safe in wizarding society. However, their stalwart defender known as Albus Dumbledore has fronted a shadowy organization in an attempt to stave off the senseless attacks. Between the Death Eaters and the syndicate that the Headmaster leads known as the Order of the Phoenix, the clashes of the two factions have become ever more costly in terms of life.
The stalwart defense that Hogwarts has afforded its students is beginning to slip. With Death Eaters' children coming of age and being initiated into the organization, the Dark Lord's grasp on the student population is a terrifying prospect. Violence against muggle-born and half-blood students is rising. However, even as old enemies make themselves apparent, the true surprise is the depths of friendship that arise in the face of such a calamity. Old loyalties are put to the test but found to be true as students scrabble to maintain control of their fragile world.
It is the students that show the most promise in their quest to confront what used to be nothing more than bullies that garner the Order's attention. Those few, those that seem to hold little regard for anything more than the hard-won bonds with their associates, have found themselves a new challenge. In a direct challenge to Voldemort's attempt to gain a foothold in Hogwarts, Dumbledore himself has the audacity to initiate a handful of older students to his own company. The war has been brought to the youth, and while such a state is lamentable the world is not willing to wait for them to gain life experience. Faced with the prospect of their own mortality, friend and foe alike turn back to the past when there were dreams, and shared the same wonder--whose dream would they die for?
