Standing Trials is a well established fantasy RPG forum set in the world of Idalos ~ a land where Immortals use mortals in their war, where magic is real and every day sees a new challenge. We have a clear system of character progression and a focus on story where each day the characters face a new challenge. Come and join us and make a difference to the world!

Our story is set in a world following the great Shattering. Before this there were eight Original Beings - the creators of the Immortals. But for reasons no one knows, they Shattered and, where their physical bodies were, now Grand Fractures create rips in reality, leaking out aspects of Emea - the dream realm. So, the Immortals continue; some grant their blessings to mortals, or place their curses on them. With these Immortal Marks come abilities and power - granted by the Immortal for acts of devotion.

There are Immortals who are pro-mortal, who help and aid the people of Idalos, and there are those who wish to see them destroyed or enslaved. Some mortals are devout followers, others are fanatically opposed to the Immortals - but none can doubt their impact on the world.

With 35 Immortal beings, Domain Magics and clear character progression, we are telling the story of the beings of Idalos. With over 15 races, our players have a range of options to them.

Our site is an active, story driven place with a dedicated and enthusiastic staff. We've recently undergone a full update and offer players the choice to either write on the main forums or, if you prefer, to write in the Adult Forum where all 18+ content must be. We welcome new faces and are constantly looking at ways to make the new player experience easier. On Standing Trials we have a clear system of character progression and an ever progressing story.
