Thirty years ago, the tentative peace that fell over Lalivia was broken; a civil war ravished the Kingdom and The Ten were called to arms once more. It took years for them to quell the fighting, but as the flames of war began to die down a new problem arose. A mysterious plague began seeping into the Kingdom, appearing on the coast and heading inland.
Warping animals, people, and plants that it touched, it threatened the entire Kingdom. It was unlike anything that the residents had ever seen, and it spread rapidly around the coast, driving the population inland towards Erilyn, the capital. For ten years people were dying, going mad, and trying to make their way to the safety of the Capital.
It has been five years since that the plague forced all those who survived inside the walls of Erilyn. They think they are safe within the walls, but the scarce resources, poisoned wells, and destroyed crops tell a different story.
