Fantasy in a different way.

Magic is in the air and it is accessible by many, found in small particles the people call mana. The class of people who can tap into mana are called mages and each one is ordered by a classification, such as conjuring or necromancy.

Oratorio's walls were built a century ago to combat the horrific revenants. It is said that no living being exists beyond the city's walls. Quellers, a class of mages with strong necromancy or holy spirituality, are tasked with venturing beyond the walls to quell the forces of undead creatures and spirits that still plague the outer walls.

Before the rise of the revenants, Oratorio was the capital city of its continent, where the royal family, nobles, and university students dwelled. Now, after a century of housing whomever could fit behind its vast walls, the city has become rather compartmentalized. The royal family itself has been polarized, with those who wish to assist those who have fallen upon dark times and those who feel those who cannot carry their own weight should be exiled and forced outside the walls.

Aside from housing the royal family, Oratorio is also well known for its magical university, where those with high magical abilities study. The university itself has existed almost as long as they royal family, as the royal family carries a strong magical lineage.

Ryzaria, on the other hand, is a land full of unspoiled, natural beauty. The region is covered in thick, dense forest where barbarians roam, guarding their territories and lands fiercely from both Revenants and from each other. Far off in the distance the tall mountains loom, inhabited by mountain Tribesmen.

While the barbarians have no access to magic, the Tribesmen have a highly evolved system of magical protection. Tribesmen also rarely command dragons.

Travel from Oratorio to Ryzaria is fraught with danger, as one must traverse the Ash Lands. Travelers who dare to make the arduous journey typically do so in groups, or with the aid of skilled--though expensive--mercenary bodyguards.
