It is generally unknown how the island of Rosewood came to be. It is said to be hundreds of years old, and has been home to countless gifted students and staff. Sitting roughly off the coast of southwestern UK, the island is home to the renowned Rosewood Academy of the Gifted. The enormous castle houses the best of the best. Students from ages fourteen to eighteen learn to use their abilities and control them with the guidance of talented professors. The summer before their first year at Rosewood, each student gets a letter from the Headmaster. They come, are put in one of the four houses based on personality, are off to begin their journey.

Last year, a corrupted headmaster sent the school to battle with the Legion of Kaienna, an organization created to keep an eye on the superhumans of the world. Headmaster Velius disappeared before the battle ended, but was quickly captured, and is being held deep beneath the Legion's headquarters in Norway. The school is recovering, even a year later, from the damages: both phyical and emotional. Lives were lost, and a heavy cloud continues to hang over the school. A new headmaster, Leon Keller, is attempting to restore peace and ease at the school, for there are still followers of Mr. Velius at the school.

Now, things are being rebuilt. There is constant watch from the Legion on the school, as they make sure things stay civil, calm, and content. The rules at Rosewood have been highly enforced, and the professors as well as the new Headmaster have been very strict with the students for the past year. It is winter, and a very cold one at that. Everyone is on edge. What the inhabitants of Rosewood don't know is that the battle is far from over.
