Hey all, my name is GG. Avid RPer, Video Gamer, Comic book reading stud. I am a Playstation fan I like to play RPGs, action/adventure, survival horror, and fighting games. Favorite games right now are Resident Evil, Parasite Eve, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Mortal Kombat just to name a few. I recently got into the Magic video game. I love Marvel Comics and mainly read X-Men titles, my favorite book is the Last Vampire by Christopher Pike.

I have been RPing for 10+ years starting out in AOL chat rooms and IMs in the land of Rhydin, my signature character was a an angel by the name of Shi. Pretty nifty. I was introduced to Forum RP by a friend of mine. I started out in a real life crime RP set in London called Hubris unfortunately I wasn't active enough to continue with the site (they're really awesome though I loved the set up). I played Owen Santiago, Noah Templeton, and Cathleen Romanov. I also played on Souls on Fire as the evil Sylvain Reynard (my PB was Angie Harmon haaaaawt). I have been spending the last 6 months or so on Beyond Human where I play several characters (6 total I think) and I recently started (or re-started) a marvel RP I started with a guy I met online. He disappeared and I totally went in another direction with the idea before going back to our original idea and expanding it just a bit. I just opened the site on the 9th (it's a week old now! Whoo hoo!) Playing all on my lonesome while promo-ing the site whenever I can to encourage players to join and to climb the ranks of topsites mwahaha!

I am a freelance graphic/web designer (I recently learned how to skin my jcink board so I'm stoked about that). Just your all around average guy that doesn't like to hold women's purses while they shop (that recently happened over the weekend so I figured I'd throw that in) Feel free to respond, drop a line and chat with me. Oh and I'm a scorpio Oh yeah! x3

Hey GG! Welcome! That is quite the roleplaying history. I have actually never used a play-by for a character before. ,__, I always either end up drawing my own character, or finding a photo or something of them that seems relevant.

Thanks Iversia! Yeah pretty extensive history there but it definitely helps with writing. Really you haven't used a PB at all? I like to think PBs as potential casting for a film. It also gives you a bit of inspiration I never really understood the use of PBs until I actually used them. They become limited though when it comes to characters that aren't human or humanoid. I actually am thinking of commissioning an artist for an idea I have for an original RP forum. x3 Ohhh creativity.

I think I've always just been slightly weirded out by using another person's face as a character. I can totally see how it would appeal to someone though, specially the way that you mentioned it: casting for a film. It's like being your own director! :) I've almost always either stuck to animal-esque RPGs, or RPGs that have species other than humans. I figure that I'm already a human in real life, so I might as well try something else that I don't get to be.

I never really tried Animal-esque RPGs I just haven't really found anything that appealed to me as far as that theme goes. But I like your thinking it's definitely outside of the box. I wonder if there is an RPG that actually sticks within the boundaries of animals? Ya know they're not humanoid/anthro they are truly animals.

  6. I haven't RP'd anywhere but 'Souls in a long time, but from affiliate requests and general advertisements on our board, I feel like 50% of animal RPGs are "realistic" or at least "mostly realistic" without anthropomorphic or fantasy elements. The other 50% are a mishmash of fantasy, supernatural and sci-fi, though I think of those, relatively few are anthropomorphic?

    Welcome ^.^

Also, re: animal rpgs - there ARE a few realistic animal rpgs out there (I think Wolf is one of them: http://wolf-rpg.com) but you still have the "anthropomorphic" idea of them being able to talk and communicate with one another. Now, on the wolf rpgs that I've ran and helped run I'm very very particular about the idea that - yes we are "writing" them as talking in complete sentences, etc - HOWEVER, in character they are not speaking like a human, but rather barking, howling, whining, showing body language, etc like a wolf. Our human "writing of words" is merely the way that we can have the ability as humans to understand each other implicitly ooc rather than trying to write a long paragraph full of body language, barks and howls and hope that our rp partner understands what we mean.

However, not all games are like that. But there are quite a few that do use the "realistic" wolf or even other realistic animals. :)

Welcome! I always end up holding the shopping bags for my guy somehow. But he is such a gentleman that he does take them back when we walk home. Awww. Guys are way more vain when shopping than girls, in my experience...
