Since this is a world wide problem, I am very interested to know how the RP community is coping lately. How are 'you' coping with it?

Have you or are you as we are in Sydney living with lock downs? Has your forum suffered in any way with activity as a result of this current crisis?

As of now, the RPG I'm involved with has come to a virtual stand still; how is yours coming along?

Thank you for posting this Raza. I'm in Sydney to and it's been a shocker around my area. Shops closed for good, people lost jobs and all. As for RP, I don't think many people have the spirit atm. I hope it will pick up soon.

I'm in the United States, and while we are not on total lockdown yet (again at least), I feel like it is coming. *hugs to those in Australia and other places in lockdown atm.*

Game-wise, It's hard to say. While many people might have had more time on their hands when we were on lockdown, mentally, if you are wondering when the world is going to end and or your next paycheck is coming from, it can be hard to be creative. Now that I am employed again, I've often been too busy and exhausted to be creative or recruit...so yeah.

For the most part, the long-timers in my group are still plugging along, maybe not as frequently as they used to, but they are hanging in there. But it's been hard to recruit, mostly due to the above-mentioned lack of available time (and not a lot of help to do so), In the midst of things, Yahoo Groups, which was where most of my haunts were, finally vanished, and even though the dust has long settled, trying to find where everyone dispersed to hasn't been something I at least have had time for until recently.

Well it isn't getting any better is it? I pray things will improve soon for us Sydney siders. As for role play in my neck of the woods, its deader than a dodo right now.

It can't get any worse than it is right now. Most of the eastern states are locked down, NSW (my state) having it worse than the others. We now have curfews! I think WW2 wasn't as bad as this for my parents generation. Thanks for the hugs, I feel we'll be needing a lot of that going forward. We can only hope in some way the role play community can stay alive.

I actually had COVID in October 2020 and it was awful! Halloween is my favourite holiday and it was awful not to be able to celebrate it. I enjoyed the serenity of the first lockdown, but then things got really confusing for me because when we came out of the second lockdown the rules kept changing, and then we very quickly went into a third and the rules kept changing again. To give some context, I live in the UK. I actually noticed that roleplays were a bit more active during lockdown, probably because we didn't have anything else to do, but activity is dwindling a little in the roleplays I'm in now that the restrictions are being eased again, probably due to everyone going back to work and school. I hope that when I start up my forum, the activity won't suffer due to everything being opened up again.

One can only be thankful you pulled through. Many don't and now as it appears it isn't just the elderly either.

I think it is going both ways with online activity. Though many here down under are still in lock down, from conversations I've had, those involved in RPG's simply don't have the spirit to participate at the moment, while as you said, some returning to work or education don't have the time.
