invisionfree | sci-fi/fantasy | shapeshifter | New Orleans

New Orleans, Louisiana; the big easy. Life in the south is as sweet as ever, and the crescent city is no exception. The streets of the french quarter are still bustling with life and the one-of-a-kind spirit found nowhere else in the world. Rain or shine, music fills the air on every corner. And when night rolls around? Well, lets just say work tomorrow ain't about to stop the party tonight. For the experiment sixty-four escapees and their human allies, life's a different story. Victims of a secret government weapon program, the shape shifters were designed to be used as military tools. Countless previous 'experiments' have failed and been exterminated for years by the scientists who were just not quite satisfied with their work. However, experiment sixty-four, one of the last prototypes before success, managed to escape with their lives. So long as they aren't seen, the shape shifters are safe from humans. Without genetic testing, the government has no way of verifying their identity. Of course, the government can't start running seemingly random DNA tests on everyone without arousing suspicion, either. The only threat to the fugitives are their predecessors; the successful experiments that came years after sixty-four's escape. Sixty-four and their successors are equipped with the ability to recognize their species, so the escapee's must tread lightly. Unlike experiment sixty-four, further modifications created the type of blind pet-like loyalty scientists desired in their living war machines. Driven by the fear of exposure, the government is on the hunt for the escaped shifters. The mutation must be contained, their existence kept secret, and, most importantly, experiment sixty-four must be exterminated.
