Pulse

Loosely based on The Hunger Games

For the post-apocalyptic future of America, things look bleak. After a civil war that has destroyed almost all of what once was the beautiful melting pot, extreme action has been taken. Sealing off sections of the country into cities, with three surrounding sectors of each, the government is able to control the population by keeping them locked up inside highly technological domes. These domes are controlled by a central city and made of glass that show the outside world as a barren wasteland, destroyed by war. The government controls the food, the goods, the factories, the jobs, even the reproduction of children. The government has a tight hold on their citizens, and intend to keep it that way. However, all is not as it seems. There are whispers of the government spreading lies-- of riots in neighboring cities. The people of this caricature that was once America are becoming restless-- it is only a matter of time before the pulse of a revolution takes hold.
PULSE is a roleplay based, loosely, upon Suzanne Collins' popular trilogy, The Hunger Games. You don't need to know a thing about the books, however, to enjoy yourself on PULSE. We boast a loose plot, one that you - the members - mold from day one. Will you rise up and revolt against the government or stay quiet and safe? Will you shirk off your job and pay the price, or try to run from the overbearing Empire law? Your character's fate is yours to decide; but remember! At every turn, you will be faced with tragedy and the strangle-hold of the government officials. We combine member-run site plot and an admin-played NPC and Random Event account. Your days in PULSE will not be easy, and they will not be calm. If you steal, if you break the law, expect to see the watchmen knocking on your doors with a warrant for your arrest. Expect your trial to go badly, and to end up at the whipping post, or worse, the Colosseum for a month.
Things are never as they seem, and in PULSE it's no different. Rebels lay in wait behind glassy-eyed slaves, playing their part until the time comes when they can truly rise up and end the government's corrupt regime. But if that happens, how will they survive in the barren wasteland displayed beyond their safe, domed cities?
