Finding forums

What has been the best way to find new forums? It used to be you could find postings on resource sites but I'm seeing a lot of those go by the waistside unless I'm not finding the currently active one.

 

Most of the RP Resource Sites have moved to Discord. Same as a lot of forums, tbh. I know several of my friends have moved their stuff to Discord as opposed to forum RPing.

 

A lot of them have moved to Discord or Tumblr directories. The latter-I've found--are for JCINK forums.

A couple large Discord directories are:

• FINDRPs (https://discord.gg/zyQkerDT9T)
• Roleplay Central (https://discord.gg/roleplaycentral)
• The Roleplay Garden (https://discord.gg/rpgarden)

These 3 are 18+. There are sorted advertisement channels, various discussion channels, and over 400 users. They are pretty active! And (in my experience) happy to help or answer questions :)

 

Rpg-D is a good site. It's still around so you should consider looking it up. That's how I found this website.

 

I would say, just doing what you did. Asking online! There's still lots of people that run smaller forums that cater toward role playing (shameless plug: like mine! [link prematurely redacted by author].

 

I still use RPG-D. Found RPG-Index which was helpful. I agree a lot has gone to Discord. Word of mouth is still the gold standard I think, but it's hard to branch into new fandoms/settings that way.

 

I wanted to update, I found another great role playing directory site, especially if you're into anime/manga like I am: Pixel-perfect.

 

pixel perfect, Tumblr blogs (animanga-nexus, jcink tinder, etc), other forum sites advertising sections, and the ones linked above that are on discord! there's also things like jcink directory and so forth. rpg-d is also a big well known one!

 

I tried looking for RPG-Index, but all I came up with was a video game RPG blog.
