Posting into the Void?

I've been active on this site for three days now. That may not seem like a long time, but for somebody who's waiting for their membership to be fully activated, it's excruciatingly long. This site seems to be dormant, despite getting regular visitors-- most of that seems to be for the Directory, the main part of the site.

As a forum admin, I've looked at various software platforms. While I'm happy to see Xenforo here, I really like the features and interface, I don't understand why somebody would pay for the platform and not be active on it? I could understand something like SMF, which is what I use, because that's totally free (I wish I could afford to use Xenforo!) It just seems like a waste. You've got a decent community built up here to talk about the development of specific-forum based role playing. And I understand that perhaps the hayday for this hobby is long expired, but as I'm proof, there are still people who are just now discovering this format.

I've also looked at the Discord Server, to find interaction with it just as frustrating. I reached out to a couple of people there, but my queries feel upon deaf ears. The Administrator there has messages blocked from non-friends. To me, that doesn't seem very inviting, and if nobody on the Forum Staff is going to be active, or at least checking notifications when a newbie trips over this site, I don't believe that's healthy for the well-being of the community

I don't mean for this to sound like a rant, but I guess it devolved into one. Perhaps this should be in the Site Suggestions board instead. I'm not sure. I'll go back to waiting patiently to be noticed.

 

Just wanted to give an update. I finally managed to get a hold of an admin. It appears that some automated task wasn't running. That's an easy oversight. All is forgiven. I'm glad to be here, and hope to see some interesting conversations develop!
