OCs or Canon Characters?

I'm interested in seeing what the preference is? I tend to write up a lot of pre-written roles or canons to fit the story I'm working on. but i know a lot of people love bringing in their OC's as well.

 

I play a mix of both canons and OCs.

 

I used to really like canon characters, however, I've found I have more creative freedom when playing my own custom brew characters.

 

I play a mix, but I love bringing in OCs to a fandom verse. As far as a completely original world goes, I don't know that I particularly like the idea of there being canons to begin with. It kind of just feels forced.

 

Same, I kind of hate the idea of canons in an original setting. At that point write a book. It gives the feeling that the admins are going to micromanage every aspect of the story when there are clear Main Characters

 

I like to do both but lean toward OC chars.

 

I've done a mix of both, OCs and Canons. I like both, but it really depends on the genre for me.

 

I've written a canon or someone else's asked-for character here and there, but plot lines kept getting dropped which forced me to write my own storylines anyway. I'd much rather just write a character from the ground up so I can keep exploring them as they teach me.
