I love to plot, as I imagine we all do, but I find it just as exhilarating, perhaps even more so, to just go purely organic and see where a story goes. I understand there are a lot variables to consider when coordinating a collaborative story with three or more writers, obviously 'familiarity' comes to mind, but that's neither here nor there as far as this particular subject is concerned. My question is, "What is the general concensus for too much plotting?" What is considered to be too much planning, or by contrast, too little? Keep in mind that I'm coming from a 'plot-centric/themed' concept, not a 'free-form' site, but even in the case of the latter I believe this question would be relevant.

Feel free to elaborate. "What have you found to be the winning ratio?"
